Too busy for this anymore, a 2 (3?)-month standing simple
typo bug is proof of that. Having a few health and personal problems. Might
come back at some point, probably not. Please give credit where due and
remember. Aside from that... I guess, best of luck those who are continuing
the good work.
All my projects are now officially canned. rocky-legends.com will continue to run
until the lease is out. I hope some pr0n/search spam site doesn't buy the
domain. Might see me once Supcom gets off the ground, else I'm probably

Absolute Annihilation 2.3 Beta 2
December 26, 2006
I've got a vacation from work for a little while, so I
thought this would be a good time to get as much work done on the mod as
possible. The break is also giving me this opportunity to clarify to
everyone my plans for the Abolition mod.
Abolition is meant to be the mod that finally breaks the
barriers between OTA-based mods and mods based in other universes.
Rather than just Arm and Core, Abolition will feature between 7 and 12
armies. These will include:
The above 7 are the bare minimum I intend to deliver in the final version.
However, there are also two other armies I am actively working on, which
will come into the mod at some point in the future, bringing the total up to
9. Finally, the three armies from E&E may make an appearance if an
arrangement can be made with Fanger, the E&E mod's creator. The
problem I see here is that E&E is under active development. All the
other armies are either under development by me, or not available for
My plan was to release Abolition 1.0 a couple months ago.
In addition to containing many bugfixes for Arm and Core, it was to include
one of the above armies in a finished, balanced state. But I've
decided to hold off on that until I can get all of the above races working
for an initial release.
In the meantime, I'm going to continue releasing updates
for the AA segment, continuing with the name Absolute Annihilation. As
a subset of Abolition, you'll still find the latest information about it

The mod formerly known as Absolute Annihilation has been
renamed Abolition, a more generic name for a mod that is slowly trying to
cut ties to Total Annihilation content. To help me defray the cost of
this host (750 gig/month transfer), there's now an ad on the page. I
hope it doesn't bother you, but it's a Google one, so generally speaking it
shouldn't be too visually offensive ;) You should... eh... you know...
feel free to... ehhhh........... .... nevermind.
I'm planning to get the unit guide finally updated as soon
as possible. I'm also aiming to set up a brand-new forum for AA here
on this new host, just for serious discussion about the mod, free from
speedmetal kiddies. It should suit everyone's needs very well.
Look for it in the near future, I'm sure you'll all be very pleased with
what I've come up with!
The latest "Absolute Annihilation" unit guide is for
version 1.46. The latest version of AA is 2.24. SAD. So
this will have a high priority in the coming days. The reason it
hasn't been updated in so long is because I had a hard drive crash (yeah,
those really happen apparently) and the template I used was destroyed.
It was a pretty big undertaking, and I've been none too eager to rebuild it.
So what's the future of Absolute Annihilation? Well,
as mentioned before, it's now named Abolition. Yeah, it combines the
two words and still has some relevance to the original subject (the
elimination of something). First time that's happened, I bet. Must be a sign.
From here on, I'm going to be spending less time making major general
improvements to the mod, just concentrating on occasional balance patches,
until finally I can start replacing entire tech trees with completely
original content. The mod will continue to be only developed for
Spring, unless the recently-announced OSRTS proves to be a better option.
Ha! An ad! Look at that. Well, at least there's no pop-ups,
right? You know, if you want to be
real nice, you could... uh... well I'm prohibited to say. But it involves
clicking. Somewhere. Shhh...
